our Pride display at the library is pretty f'in awesome! it features big rainbow letters with feathers stuck to them (we were going to use balloons but they kept popping; the feathers worked out way better in the end) and a backdrop of multicoloured circles that's super eye-catching--I've seen a lot of people stopping to take photos of it or selfies in front of it 😃

am super annoyed with both my children for housekeeping-related reasons. the practice of doing the bare minimum requested and relying on their sibling/parents to pick up the slack is really obvious and continues no matter how many times we call them out on it 😡
still can't bring myself to post any of my recent writing

It's Victoria Day weekend here, plus I took yesterday off - four-day weekend, baby!
My gross toe finally healed so I went for a pedicure & now have Russian Navy toenails

Also, I have high hopes for the

getyourwordsout "7 projects in 7 days" (starting tomorrow!). I really want to use it as a head start for the rest of the summer; June & the first week of July are always overwhelmed by my annual volunteer co-ordinating gig, but if I can bang out some rough drafts next week I might actually be able to stick to my proposed schedule and complete these WIPs before November.

I discovered a really cool DW community! fanart_recs posts fanart recs, different fandom(s) each month, and you can volunteer to be the reccer for a month. I think I'll sign up to do one later this summer, probably Star Wars/Rogue One or Lord of the Rings (maybe both?).
My deeply disgusting foot issue is finally improving, which is good because:
I'm going away with a bunch of friends this weekend for the first cottage trip of the year! It's still too cold for swimming but the weather should be good enough for a little hiking and a lot of sitting around the fire drinking.

All I have to do first is finish and post an acceptable MT4 story in the next 40 hours...

I don't normally notice my grey hair much (it sort of blends in with curly hair) but I got a haircut today & my stylist straightened it, which made it more obvious that I now have cool silver streaks!
The disgusting blister was better today - at least, I could walk without much of a limp

I got an awesome new pair of sunglasses for a birthday present; I don't normally buy expensive sunglasses since I tend to lose them, so here's hoping I can hang on to these ones.
Recent trip was mildly stressful (just the usual family stuff) but we did have some great meals and a lovely visit with an old friend.
I've managed to keep up with my reading resolution to average a book a week in 2019. Top three favourites so far this year:
- Six of crows, Leigh Bardugo
- The poppy war, R. F. Kuang
- Excellent women, Barbara Pym (although something about the ending didn't quite satisfy)
